The Texas Chainsaw Massacre House resides in Kingsland Texas on the grounds of The Antlers Hotel. This is a 1900 Victorian house that was featured prominently in Tobe Hooper’s horror movie ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’.

This white Victorian home introduced the world to Leatherface and brought fear to all who dared to enter. Shooting of the movie took place in 1973 and the film premiered in Austin the following year.  The original location for the film was a farmhouse that sat on Quick Hill Road and in present-day Round Rock.

The house was cut into six pieces in order to be moved in 1998. After that, it was reassembled and restored to its original condition by master carpenter Anthony Mayfield on the side of an investor couple in Austin. As per the research, this was likely built between 1908 and 1910. Before filming, it was just a single-family home but today it is home to the Grand Central Cafe. According to the information provided on the website, the Grand central cafe is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

The house is still occupied by a real family. Apart from it, it also includes a part of a working farm. These signs clearly indicate that visitors are not welcomed on the property. The brochures on the gate state that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is not real and remind people to respect their privacy.
